Head short; snout blunt, rounded; pectoral fins extending far beyond the anal fin origin; filamentous ray of pelvic fins extending slightly beyond the anal fin origin; color is dark; roof of mouth with dark anchor-shaped pigment pattern (Ref. 1371).
