Dorsal spines (total): 0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 57 - 63; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 54 - 62. Head short; snout blunt, rounded; pectoral fins extending far beyond the anal fin origin; filamentous ray of pelvic fins extending slightly beyond the anal fin origin; color is dark; roof of mouth with dark anchor-shaped pigment pattern (Ref. 1371).
