• North America: in Lake Michigan and Mississippi River basins from southwestern New York to Minnesota and south to northern Georgia, northern Alabama and southern Arkansas; in Wabash River drainage of Ohio, Indiana and Illinois; and in streams of southern Illinois, southern Iowa and northern Missouri, USA.

Biology

Inhabit rocky riffles of creeks and small to medium rivers (Ref. 5723, 10294). Adults feed on midge larvae, mayfly nymphs, and blackfly larvae (Ref. 10294). Eggs are found attached to the substrate unguarded (Ref. 7043).
