• North America: tributaries of Ohio River in southern Illinois and western Kentucky; Green River drainage in Kentucky; upper Cumberland River drainage in Kentucky and Tennessee; and Tennessee River drainage in Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi in the USA.

Biology

Inhabit rocky pools of headwaters, creeks and small rivers (Ref. 5723, 10294). Adults feed on midge larvae, mayfly and stonefly nymphs, and crustaceans (Ref. 10294). Eggs are found clustered on underside of stone and guarded by males (Ref. 7043).
