Dorsal spines (total): 0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 8. Diagnosis: last simple dorsal-fin ray smooth on hind margin; scale formula 3.5/22-25/3.5; 2.5 scales between lateral line and pelvic-fin base; 8-10 scales around caudal peduncle; lateral-line scales not deeper than other scales and marked with black, sometimes simulating a longitudinal band; 8 branched dorsal fin rays; no barbels; lateral line complete, straight; maximum reported size 30 mm SL (Ref. 2940, 81282).
