Description


Dorsal spines (total): 7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8 - 9; Anal spines: 1; Anal soft rays: 7 - 9; Vertebrae: 25. 56-61 lateral scales; 15-17 transverse scales; 23-26 scales around caudal peduncle and 16 or 17 pectoral fin-rays; anterior nasal tubes long, extending beyond the lip; 5 transverse rows of neuromasts below the eye, the 2nd,3rd and 4th rows continue across the longitudinal row below them; the 2 oblique rows of neuromasts on the opercle unite at their posterior ends; 6 or 7 transverse rows lie on each side of the upper snout and interorbital space (Ref. 38395).
