Dorsal spines (total): 7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12 - 13; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 11. Characterized by having: terminal mouth position; thin white lateral stripe from eye to caudal peduncle and thin white bar on snout; naked and elongate body, laterally compressed; absence of rostral frenum; rounded tongue; dorsal fin without elongated anterior spines; caudal fin rounded; complete ventral fin cup (Ref. 50538).
