Description


Dorsal soft rays (total): 16 - 24; Anal soft rays: 15 - 21. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following characters: 2 supraneural bones; spinous process (hypurapophysis) on the anterosuperior border of the parahypural bone (hypural complex); sagitta otolith elliptical and smooth-lobed margins, rostrum process short, posterior region of the otolith straight or flat, the aspect ratio of sagitta otoliths AR = 0.585, the roundness index Rd = 0.543; morphometric index 0.735: mean head length 35.01% SL, mean diameter of the orbit 7.73% SL, mean pre-orbital depth 0.14% SL, mean snout length 5.36% SL (Ref. 126783).
