Dorsal spines (total): 0 - 2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7 - 8; Anal spines: 2 - 3; Anal soft rays: 24 - 26; Vertebrae: 28 - 29. Body with 5-7 irregular dark vertical bars; opercle with a pair of vertical parallel reddish bars; presence of broad chin-bar, merging with anterior part of second postorbital stripe, forming a triangular dark mark below eye; anal-fin rays 27-29; lateral scales 28 1/2-30; total length 131.6-142.3% SL; caudal peduncle depth 13.1-16.3% SL; body depth at dorsal-fin origin 23.2-27.1% SL; pelvic fin length 28.1-38.4% SL; dorsal-fin base length 9.6-12.5% SL; interorbital width 6.3-9.9% SL (Ref. 56386).
