Description

Note: Proskauer (in Ann. Bot. 12: 259. 1948; Bull. Torrey Bot. Club 78: 343. 1951) initially indicated 1272.2 (LINN) as the type but, recognising that this sheet was a post- 1753 addition to the collection, rejected this choice in favour of the Micheli plate. Haessel de Menendez (in Cryptog. Bryol. Lichenol. 5: 202. 1984) illustrates the Dillenian material extant at OXF.
