Dorsal spines (total): 12; Dorsal soft rays (total): 14 - 16; Anal spines: 4; Anal soft rays: 10 - 12. Scale coarsely ctenoid; no pair of tooth patches at front of lower jaw outside gape; color is uniform bright red (Ref. 2334).
