This species has the following characters: Dorsal fin VI + I,9; anal fin II,8; pectoral fin rays 13-14; lateral line scales 24 + 1-2; median predorsal scales 6-8; scales between lateral line and first dorsal-fin base 1.5; total gill rakers 3-4 + 11-13; developed gill rakers 1 + 6-9; ceratobranchial rakers 7-8 (usually 7) (Ref. 50837).
