Dorsal spines (total): 4; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 5. Mouth width 2.2-2.3 times in head width; no barbels; caudal peduncle about 2.4-2.8 times longer than deep (Ref. 27732); last simple dorsal ray slender and smooth in individuals less than about 9 cm SL, smooth to finely serrated posteriorly in larger individuals (Ref. 43281).
