Description

Note: Conway, in typifying the name, also treated a specimen in the Dillenian Synopsis herbarium (OXF), illustrated as pl. 1, f. 2, as a typotype. However, John & al. (in Bull. Brit. Mus. (Nat. Hist.), Bot. 7: 77. 1979) disagreed that this was the basis for the illustration, arguing that a collection in the Sherard herbarium (OXF) is a better match for the figure.
