Description
Dorsal spines (total): 3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9 - 13; Anal spines: 2; Anal soft rays: 6. Moderate deep bodied, no bands or spots, 2 pairs of barbels, upper jaw longer, pre-dorsal scales 12; dorsal fin inserted equidistant between tip of snout and base of caudal fin.

Biology
Occurs in deep large rivers in upland regions (Ref. 41236). Adults prefer deep rocky pools, mostly hide under bedrocks and boulders; while juveniles prefer pools and riffles (Ref. 43631, 44151). Feed on allochthonous plant materials and debris (Ref. 44151). Breed after the monsoon, when river gets stabilized; fries available during February and March (Ref. 44151).
