Description
Dorsal spines (total): 10; Dorsal soft rays (total): 19; Anal spines: 2; Anal soft rays: 19; Vertebrae: 35. This species is distinguished from A. leptus by the following characters: D X (vs. IX); vertebrae 12 + 23 (vs. 13 + 19); mid-dorsal supratemporal pores 2 (vs. 1); males with a conspicuous blue ocellus between dorsal-fin spines, absent in females (Ref. 117352).
