Description


This species is distinguished from the others species of the H. lacerdae group in having 42-46 scales along lateral line (vs. 38-43 in H. brasiliensis and 34-39 in H. curupira); 4-6 pores of the laterosensory system along the ventral surface of dentary (vs. always 5 in H. australis and 6-8 in H. lacerdae); angular shape of anterior profile of head (vs. rounded H. intermedius and H. australis) (Ref. 81195).
